Mandatory Training: Our bespoke care training includes 1-day courses that adhere to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework and are accredited by The CPD Group. Full day courses are priced at £65 per person, while half day courses are available for £30. Please note, we do not conduct courses during school holidays.
Moving & Positioning of People (Assisting and Moving People): This bespoke care course focuses on the knowledge and competency skills required for the safe moving and positioning of individuals using appropriate equipment. Participants will practice with various types of equipment, including hoists, rotundas, transfer belts, slide sheets, and banana boards. For those who have previously completed Moving and Positioning with us, the annual refresher is a half-day course. Please be aware that you can only take the refresher course after completing the full day with us.
Introduction to Care: This course covers all main core subjects in just 1 day, making it ideal for staff new to the care industry. Topics include the Role and Responsibilities of the Care Worker, Communication, Duty of Care, Person-Centred Approaches, Handling Information, Confidentiality, and Equality & Diversity, including LGBT+ Awareness.
Dementia Awareness: This bespoke care course explores the various aspects of dementia and its impact on individuals. We examine dementia's effects on the brain, communication, continence, eating and drinking, and behavior. The course is interactive, featuring an Age Simulation Suit that allows learners to experience the physical impacts of aging.
Medication Awareness: This half-day course outlines the requirements for medication support for carers within both community settings and care homes. Course objectives include Basic Principles of Medication Support, Medication Legislation, the 8 ‘Rights’ of Medication, Forms of Medication, Medication Routes, Medication Types, Medication Risks, Potential Errors & Prevention, Roles and Responsibilities, Record Keeping and Reporting, and Disposal of Medication.
Health & Safety: This course covers essential safety topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Risk Assessment, and Lone Working.
Safeguarding: This training includes topics on MCA, LPS (formerly DOLS), Domestic Violence, and FGM Awareness.
Personal and Pressure Care: This course addresses all aspects of Personal and Pressure Care, including Oral Care, Tissue Viability, and Continence Awareness.
Health & Safety 1 day inc COSHH/RIDDOR/Infection Control/Manual Handling/Fire Safety and Risk Assessment.
Evacuation Chair/Ski Pad with PEEPS - this 4 hr course is delivered at your workplace and covers legislation relevant to PEEPs, ensuring you are a competent user of the evacuation chair/ski pad. The course also addresses awareness of fire safety, means of escape, and the role of evacuation chairs, while helping you understand good handling techniques essential for bespoke care settings. Max 6 learners in a group.
Manual Handling 3 hr short course
This course emphasizes the importance of correct manual handling in bespoke care operations. It discusses how manual handling can be hazardous to health, the potential for injury and harm, and the scope of legal requirements regarding manual handling operations in the workplace. Additionally, it covers risk assessments and how they apply to safe manual handling practices.
